Some parents decide to educate their children at home rather than in a school. There are different reasons for this. Some parents believe that they can provide their children with a better education at home than at school. Perhaps they are not happy with the standard of education in the school. However, home schooling is a big decision and there are many factors to take into account.
If you decide to home school your children then you must be prepared to spend a lot of time preparing materials and teaching. This means that you may not have time to do another job. It’s a big responsibility and few people can find the time to do this. Home schooling means that you can give all your attention to your child and teach them using any teaching method or style that you like.
There can be some disadvantages to home schooling. Children who are home schooled do not have so much contact with other children and may lack the social skills necessary in later life. Also, there are no rules about what or how you teach your children, there are no set standards and parents are rarely monitored by the government. Home schooling can be a great option for some students but it remains a big decision and responsibility for the parents.
