Life Without Gadgets

Imagine life without your cell phone. How would you ever communicate with anyone? What would you do if you were in an emergency situation? This thought puts fear into the minds of a lot of people. When in fact, everyone would be just fine. We survived before without cell phones. In fact, before cell phones people were hardly ever late for the meeting, appointments and plans were not suddenly cancelled, and bad news was delivered in person.

I love technology. I doubt I could live back in the days when none of this was available. It seems like it has really made our lives so much better. But when you sit back and really ponder how things have changed from the way things were done in the past, you see just how lazy we have become.

Do you still go to libraries? Why would you need to go when everything you need is online? It is very convenient. Some may argue that they are still reading online. This is true but, how did they find the information they are reading? By putting in a few search words and bringing up just what they are looking for. With a book you actually have to read it to get what you want. Thus, expanding your knowledge on another subject that may help you in the future.
