Jake
Nevada was fantastic but the business trip last week ended up being a complete waste of time.
Tamara
Why? What happened?
Jake
Well, there was heavy rain in Chicago so all the flights were cancelled. None of their staff came. The whole point of the meeting was to show them our state of the art facilities in Nevada and then try to get them to sign the contract.
Tamara
So, why didn’t you just come back to New York?
Jake
All the flights back were booked solid so we had to stay at the hotel. We did get to enjoy a little gambling and take in some fun shows. I won a few hundred dollars at craps.
タマラ　：ジェイク、ネバダ出張とプレゼンテーションはどうだった？
ジェイク：ネバダは素晴らしかったけど先週の出張は全くの時間の無駄に終わったよ。
タマラ　：なんで？何があったの？
ジェイク：ええと、シカゴで豪雨があって全てのフライトがキャンセルになったんだ。先方のスタッフが誰も来なくてね。会議において重要なことは彼らにネバダの最新の設備を見せて、契約にサインをもらうことだったから。
タマラ　：じゃあ、どうしてすぐニューヨークに戻ってこなかったの？
ジェイク：帰りのフライトがぎっしり埋まっていて、ホテルにいなければいけなかったんだ。ちょっとしたギャンブルを楽しんだり愉快なショーを見に行ったりしたよ。クラップスで何百ドルか勝ったんだ。
